The Science Museum of Minnesota announced Tuesday that it will provide free admission to federal employees affected by the ongoing government shutdown.

Any furloughed federal employee will receive free combination exhibit gallery and Omnitheater admission for themselves and up to three guests to the downtown St. Paul museum, the museum said in a news release.

“We know that this lengthy government shutdown is challenging for federal employees on many levels,” Alison Rempel Brown, president and CEO of the museum, said in the release. “We hope that our small gesture will provide them a little relief.”

To take advantage of the federal employee free admission offer, visitors must show a valid government identification card at the box office.
